SME Europe of the EPP is the official business association of the European People’s Party, serving as the leading network and advocate for small and medium-sized enterprises in Europe. It acts as a bridge between policymakers and the SME community, offering a platform for dialogue, fostering innovation, and promoting entrepreneurship.
Following the 2024 European elections, the SME Europe organized a successful General Assembly, electing a new Board, led by President Jörgen Warborn, MEP. Dedicated to strengthening the EPP’s role as the champion of Europe’s middle class, SME Europe empowers SMEs to thrive in a competitive global economy. Looking forward to 2025, we build our activity and initiatives upon four pillars:
SME Europe is he EPP’s Flagship for Europe’s SMEs. The EPP is the political home for Europe’s SMEs. Our association will continue advocating for the needs and goals of small and medium sized enterprises. SME Europe will promote and shape the EPP’s SME Identity, acting as the key platform to drive SME-friendly policies.
SME Europe builds a Comprehensive Network, serving as the central hub for SME party organizations and the broader SME community. We connect policymakers, business leaders, and entrepreneurs, fostering a robust and united SME ecosystem.
SME Europe is a Communication Platform for EPP SME Policies. More broadly, we are the EPP’s platform for developing, communicating, and promoting SME-focused policies. We create and refine SME policies, and present them in a clear manner to the public, ensuring they resonate with stakeholders. By doing so, we strengthen the EPP’s position as the leading political advocate for SMEs.
SME Europe has the potential to serve as the party’s think tank for SME policies. We provide strategic insights, policy recommendations, and innovative approaches to enhance SME competitiveness and growth. Additionally, SME Europe will foster new coordination and close cooperation with the SME Circle of the EPP, aligning efforts to strengthen SME representation and advocacy.
Our activities and initiatives will culminate in the second half of 2025 in a flagship SME conference, the “Lighthouse for EPP SME Policies”. It will boost coordination, generate new ideas, and enhance visibility for SME policies within the EPP and beyond. This event will solidify the EPP’s leadership in SME advocacy, highlighting our unwavering commitment to the growth and success of European SMEs. We will also contribute to the EPP 2025 Congress in Valencia with a side event to prepare the “Lighthouse.” The SME Europe is always open to welcome new members, new ideas and new contributors!
