Iuliu Winkler, Member of the European Parliament and vice-president of the SME Europe took part in the open debate organized in Brasov, Romania, by the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) in cooperation with SME Europe and the Brasov Municipality, on 9 May, the Day of Europe.
“SME Europe is one of the supporters of the event “Café d’Europe Régional Brasov”, and I am one of the the vice-presidents of SME Europe of the European People’s Party, elected in 2012, on the occasion of the EPP Congress in Bucharest. SME Europe is working for the goals of European SMEs, because the backbone of the European economies are SMEs and because of the job-creation potential of SMEs is the best engine for whole Europe to return to path of sustainable growth” – declared Iuliu Winkler MEP on the occasion of the debate.
The event focused on involving young people and citizens in a constructive debate on the role of Europe.
At the event was present IRE Chairman Dr. Franz Schausberger from Salzburg, Austria and H. E. Michael Schwarzinger, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria in Bucharest.
